A quick update on my Godfather trilogy marathon.
Last night I watched The Godfather Part II (1974).
I’ve heard a lot about these films in terms of which is the best and worst etc. A few people have said that Part II is often regarded as the best of the three. After now seeing the first two films I have to say I prefer the first.
I found the story easier to follow and it was a lot more engaging.
I also loved Marlon Brando’s character and his portrayal of him in the first film is one of the things I liked the most about it.
Al Pacino’s character Michael is obviously a lot more ruthless in the sequel and it’s interesting seeing his journey from quiet war hero happy to not be involved in the family business, to ruthless head of the Corleone family.
I’m looking forward to Part III. 👍
