You may or may not know that in the early 1970s Morgan Freeman was a member of the cast of "The Electric Company", a PBS children’s TV series that aired from 1971 to 1977.
The ever versatile Freeman played a number of characters: “Easy Reader" (a pun on the 1969 movie Easy Rider), “Vincent the Vegetable Vampire" and this one, "Mel Mounds".
The Shawshank Redemption star would (among other things) teach kids to read in his cool, hipster way.
What a legend!
