It’s funny how every now and then we discover that certain actors had minor parts in some of our favourite movies and TV shows before they became leading role material.
I only found out recently that Bob Odenkirk from Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and more recently the brilliant action/thriller, Nobody (2021) played one of the back stage nerds at the Aerosmith concert in Wayne’s World 2 (1993).
He’s actually got a tonne of acting credits to his name going all the way back to 1987.
Among these are the underrated comedy The Cable Guy (1996) where he played the brother of Matthew Broderick’s character Steven in the “porno password” game scene, as well as TV shows like Seinfeld, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
He also has a cameo in the latest instalment of the Halloween franchise, Halloween Kills (2021).
When the TV in the bar is showing a news report on Michael Myers’ original Haddonfield Massacre, a yearbook photo of a young Bob Odenkirk is used to depict the character of Bob Simms who was murdered in the original movie.
He does bear a striking resemblance in those glasses. 🤓
