What a different movie that would’ve been had they not let Eric Stoltz go and finally managed to get Michael J. Fox.
As it happens it kind of worked out for Stoltz. He went on to star as Rocky Dennis in the heartbreaking but critically acclaimed biographical drama, Mask which was released just a few months before Back to the Future. He was even nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance.
Would this version have been as successful as the one we all know and love? More importantly, would you even watch it if it existed…?
