Rocky Balboa (2006)

I watched Rocky Balboa (2006) last night. I’ve seen it a few times before but not for a while.

Last week I finally watched Creed II (2018) and I enjoyed that, but as good as the Creed films are, both are missing the heart that the Rocky films have. I only fully realised this last night while watching Rocky Balboa.

I don’t know if it’s the character, Bill Conti’s iconic music, or just the nostalgia, but there’s something about the Rocky films that still makes me clench my fists and shout at the TV no matter how many times I watch them. They’re just so inspiring!

Unfortunately, a lot of people never bothered with this film after being so disappointed with Rocky V.

Like the first two this one’s more about the story and the character than it is about training montages (although I do love a good training montage).

If you’re even the slightest bit of a Rocky fan or even a Sylvester Stallone fan you need to see this film. It’s a great movie to end the saga.

Seen it? What do you think?
