I’m not an avid reader myself but if I had a pound for every time I heard someone say, “the film’s not as good as the book. They left so much out!” I’d be sunning myself in the Caribbean with a few cold ones right now (current pandemic aside obviously). 🧟♂️
I’ve heard there are a few exceptions though. I’ve been told that films like Life of Pi (2012) and In the Heart of the Sea (2015) are as close to the books as you can get.
