As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride

As You Wish The Princes Bride book

Last year on the recommendation of someone on my Facebook page I bought this book:

As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride.

I’ve been having a bit of a break from social media recently, and as a result have found I've had a lot more time on my hands. This book has been sat on my shelf since I bought it almost a year ago so I decided it was about time I read it.

I absolutely loved it!

I’m not a big reader but when I do eventually find a book that gets my attention I struggle to put it down. It helps of course that I love The Princess Bride (1987), and since this book is written by the main star Cary Elwes, it was an absolute treat to read!

He talks through the whole process. From being cast in the film, meeting his co-stars for the first time, the table reading, getting fitted for his costumes, learning to sword fight ready for the epic duel in the movie - all the way to his last day of filming and the eventual release of the movie.

He also shares some highly amusing stories about some of his co-stars, including André the Giant and the epic fart he did during one of the takes that left them all with the giggles.

This is a hugely enjoyable book and a must-read for anyone who’s a fan of The Princess Bride!
