What Happened to Taylor Momsen, the Little Girl Who Played Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch (2000)?

Remember Taylor Momsen, the little girl who played Cindy Lou Who in The Grinch (2000)?

Well she’s not so little anymore. In fact she’s 28 now and fronts her own rock band called The Pretty Reckless.

Although she carried on acting into her teens, appearing in films like We Were Soldiers (2002) and Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams (2002), not to mention a regular appearance in the TV show Gossip Girl, Momsen eventually decided that acting wasn’t for her and quit to pursue a career in music.

By all accounts it seems to be going well. Her band have released four albums to date with their latest, “Death by Rock and Roll” released just this year.

According to Wikipedia: “Momsen is included on the list of Unclaimed Coogan accounts for performing children whose partial childhood earnings are mandated to be put in a special fund but who have yet to claim their earnings.”

If that’s true, I wonder how much is in the fund and why she hasn’t cashed out…?

Momsen’s co-star in The Grinch, Josh Ryan Evans who played the 8 year old Grinch was actually 18 years old at the time. He had a condition called Achondroplasia (a form of dwarfism) which gave him the voice and appearance of a child. Tragically he died in 2002 during a medical procedure from complications related to a congenital heart condition.

I don't know about you but The Grinch is a must-watch movie in my house over the Christmas period.
