In 2011 the remaining cast of The Princess Bride (1987) reunited for a photoshoot for Entertainment Weekly and to reminisce about making the much loved movie.
The film is now over 30 years old and still just as enjoyable as it’s ever been!
Based on the novel of the same name by William Goldman who wrote it for his two young daughters, the movie, for many years was considered impossible to make because of the sheer scale of the fantastic tale. Director Rob Reiner (Stand by Me, Misery) somehow pulled off a miracle and gave us one of the best loved fantasy adventures of all time.
I’m currently reading a book called “As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Princess Bride” written by Cary Elwes who plays Westley/The Dead Pirate Roberts in the movie. It’s really good so far and gives real insight into how the film came to be. If you’re a fan you should definitely give it a read. 👍
