Night of the Demon (1957)
A slightly trimmed down version that’s 12 minutes shorter to apparently “accelerate the pace” was also released in the US under the title “Curse of the Demon”.
It stars Dana Andrews and Peggy Cummins and is about an American professor (Andrews) who travels to London to attend a paranormal psychology conference to expose a devil cult leader.
Although initially sceptical he becomes increasingly worried by a strange series of events and the discovery of a runic parchment slipped to him that contains a death curse, giving him only three day’s to live.
I love this film! It absolutely scared the bejesus out of me as a kid!
It didn’t help that a road near where my grandparents lived reminded me a lot of the scene from the film where the demon is shown for the first time.
I have this movie on dvd and I treasure it.
