Jamie Foxx Returns as Electro in Third Spider-Man Movie and Teases Multiple Spider-Men

While I was off relaxing with my feet up a fair few movie related stories hit the news. It was hard to resist posting about them but I decided to save them up and just be late breaking the news to those of you that might’ve missed it.

First up was the news that Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro in the upcoming Spider-Man movie.

I love that the MCU is recognising decent portrayals of Marvel characters from the past by re-casting the original actors to play the same characters in the new movies. 🙌

The first (that I’m aware of) was J.K. Simmons who returned as J. Jonah Jameson (minus the hair piece) at the end of the last Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019).

On top of that, Jaime Foxx posted a fan made image of Electro and three different versions of Spider-Man on Instagram but later deleted it. The image has sent fans wild wondering if Marvel might be planning a similar thing to DC where they bring back previous incarnations of the character in the same movie. That would mean Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield AND Tom Holland playing our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man in a new film just as Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck and “possibly” Christian Bale are returning to play the caped crusader in the upcoming Flash movie.

The fact that the new Doctor Strange film is called “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” implies that an inter-dimensional storyline is where they’re going with it, so it would be easy for them to make this idea work.

I love the Tobey Maguire Spidey movies! Ok so the third was a bit all over the place and YES it had a dancing scene in it that EVERYONE loves to hate on, but just as Michael Keaton will always be Batman to me, so will Tobey Maguire be Spider-Man! 🕷🕸

I’ve digressed but my point is, I’ve liked all of the Spider-Man films so far and the actors involved in them so I’m excited to hear that Jamie Foxx will be returning as Electro...although apparently he won’t be blue this time...

I’m not overly sure I love the idea of all three versions of Spider-Man being in the same film though, but it could just be fans jumping the gun and drawing their own conclusions from the image Jamie Foxx shared. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see...
