Every now and again I check to see who in the movie world is celebrating a birthday that day, and today is a pretty big one.
Firstly, happy birthday to two creators of some of the best know and most loved movie franchises of the past forty years:
Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future) and George Lucas (Star Wars, Indiana Jones).
As well as co-writing them, Zemeckis (68) also directed all three Back to the Future movies.
He also directed other classics such as Romancing the Stone (1984), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Forrest Gump (1994) and Cast Away (2000) among others.
George Lucas (76) is of course responsible for giving us the Star Wars saga, the Indiana Jones movies (the less said about the last one the better), American Graffiti (1973) and Willow (1988).
It’s also happy birthday to Australian actress Cate Blanchett (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Thor: Ragnarok) and British actor Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction) who are 51 and 59 respectively. 🎬🎥🎞
