I don’t tend to post after a certain time but it’s Friday night (actually Saturday morning), I’ve been drinking wine and I’m currently watching one of my favourite films...
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (2017)
I absolutely love this film!
Both are easily two of the best movies Marvel Studios have put out but I always find it hard to nail down which of the two is my favourite. The first one wins on originality but the second wins on comedy and emotion.
Just the fact that Michael Rooker and Sylvester Stallone reunite for the first time since Cliffhanger (1993) is reason enough to love this film - let alone the fact that Stallone and Kurt Russell (who plays the main antagonist) were in Tango and Cash (1989) together (although, sadly they don’t share a scene in this film) is yet another reason to love it! Throw in the scene towards the end where Star Lord harnesses his power while “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac is playing and you’ve got a movie that’s hard not to love!
Anyway, I’ve paused it to write this post and I need to get back to it.
