Today’s Valentine's Day Movie Countdown pick is one I thought I’d feature purely because it doesn’t seem to be that well known (at least not among people I know).

It stars Hugh Grant (Notting Hill) and Drew Barrymore (50 First Dates) among others.
This is what it’s about:
A washed up 80s pop artist (Grant) gets a shot at a comeback when he’s asked to compose a chart-topping hit for an aspiring teen sensation. Having not written a decent song in years, he recruits the help of the woman who waters his plants (Barrymore) after realising she has a way with words.
I know how some people feel about Hugh Grant but he’s really funny in this movie! If you’re a hater, this probably isn’t the film for you, having said that, if you’ve got this far into the post there’s still hope for you.🤞
The story is inspired by the pop duo Wham! where one member went on to be a hugely successful solo artist and the other...well, didn’t.
It’s a really funny and heartwarming film with a great soundtrack comprised of songs by Hugh Grant’s character’s old band, "Pop!"
This is definitely worth checking out if you like romantic comedies, Hugh Grant, Drew Barrymore and the 1980s!
