This week’s “Who’s chopping onions?!” clip is from Ridley Scott’s epic masterpiece, Gladiator (2000).

The whole movie leads up to this final confrontation and this scene gets me in the feels every time!
As much as the obvious part of this scene is emotional, it’s the very last bit where Djimon Hounsou’s character, Juba buries the figurines of Maximus’s wife and son in the spot he died that strikes the final blow.
Add in the beautiful and haunting soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and the song “Elysium“ (by Klaus Badelt with vocals by Lisa Gerrard) to the already emotionally charged scene, and it’s a lip-quivering nightmare every time I watch it. 😭
