I was having a mooch on YouTube this morning when I bumped into this video. 👇
The weird guy in the mask takes a while to get to the point but he eventually leaks some rumours that have allegedly come out about the plot of the new India Jones movie currently being filmed.
[POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW]
So as you know, I’m not a fan of the last Indy movie. Not only was it a bad film, it was just too sci-fi for me. I love sci-fi but I like my Indiana Jones movies a little more grounded and set in the religious/fantasy world that made the first three films so great.
Imagine then, my reaction to these plot rumours when I watched this video.
If the information leaked in it is true, we’ll see a close-to-retirement Indy jumping into a portal in pursuit of some scallywags who have stolen three of the artefacts our fedora wearing hero has acquired in the past. His teaching assistant at the university, played by British actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Solo: A Star Wars Story) follows him in to help catch said scallywags.
Once through the portal they find themselves in the past (during World War 2 to be more specific) and discover that the thieves need the artifacts to [quote] “pull off some kind of Lost Ark style shenanigans”.
Since it’s been confirmed that the movie is set in the 1960s yet set photos have emerged showing WWII vehicles, this adds a little weight to this particular rumour.
That’s not all...
While in the past (and remember these are just rumours), Indy encounters his younger self (with a lot of help from de-aging technology) and along with Waller-Bridge, they all team up to save the day.
There’s also talk of "old Indy" dying at the end and Phoebe Waller-Bridge scooping up the legendary Fedora to carry on the franchise in a very woke manner...
They’re allegedly filming two endings though so who knows which one we’ll get if (and it’s a big if) any of this is actually true.
Remember this could all be complete horse sh#t but I found it interesting and thought I’d share it with you guys.

I’m not sure what to think about all this to be honest. I’m still digesting it.
It would make sense that they’d kill Indy off, just because of Harrison Ford’s age and the unlikelihood of there being another film with him in the lead role, but still...
