If you’re wondering what movie to watch tonight and fancy a laugh I highly recommend The Watch (2012).
It’s a massively underrated sci-fi/comedy starring Ben Stiller (There’s Something About Mary), Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers), Jonah Hill (Superbad) and Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd).
Here’s what it’s about courtesy of IMDb:
“Four men who form a neighborhood watch group as a way to get out of their day-to-day family routines find themselves defending the Earth from an alien invasion.”
That’s mostly right, but Ben Stiller’s character actually forms the neighbourhood watch after one of his staff at the Costco he manages is murdered and skinned!
This movie is hilarious!
Vince Vaughn and Richard Ayoade steal the show but all four actors are brilliant and the chemistry between them makes the film!
R. Lee Ermey also makes an appearance as a grouchy shotgun-wielding neighbour. 👌
This is easily one of my favourite comedies and I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve seen it. It’s a guaranteed laugh and an easy watch (no pun intended).
