The Short-Lived 3D Fad

I never bought into the whole 3D thing.

I went to see Avatar in 3D back in 2009 and enjoyed it but I didn’t feel compelled to go out and buy myself a 3D TV when a lot of my friends did.

I always saw it as a bit of a fad like it was in the 80s and early 90s.

Even then, we didn’t have enough 3D glasses to go around one Christmas when Jaws 3D was on TV. Me and my family sat around the living room watching the film through Quality Street sweet wrappers to see if we could get the same effect. 😂

I’m holding out for hologram video like in Minority Report (2002). Surely someone can make that happen now..? 🤔

Did you buy a new TV and 3D Blu-Ray player when it was all kicking off? If so was it worth it?
