Vangelis: “Tears in Rain” from Blade Runner (1982)

This is my favourite scene from the end of Blade Runner (1982).

The piece of music throughout Rutger Hauer’s monologue is called “Tears in Rain”, again, written and composed by Vangelis.

Film Fact: Rutger Hauer came up with many ideas for his character Roy Batty, including when he grabs the dove and strokes it in this scene.

He also improvised the line “All those memories will be lost in time...like tears in rain”.

He later called his Autobiography “All Those Moments”.

RIP. Rutger Hauer.
