If you somehow didn’t know, Huey Lewis (as in Huey Lewis and the News) has a cameo in the movie as the judge with the megaphone at the school dance band auditions.
Following the success of the band’s 1983 album “Sports”, they were asked by the film’s writers Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale to write a song for the movie. Lewis said he didn’t really know how to write a song for a movie but that he’d show them the next song the band wrote and see if they liked it. That next song was “The Power of Love”.
I don’t know about you but I’ll never be able to listen to that song without thinking of this film! 🙌
