Jurassic World: Dominion - Has the Franchise Lost its Magic?

You might’ve seen that the trailer for the new Jurassic World movie, Jurassic World: Dominion dropped (I hate that term) at the weekend.

I love Jurassic Park (1993)!! Not only is it an awesome movie and my favourite cinema experience of all time, it’s just a great concept and it holds a truck load of nostalgia for me.

I’ve liked all of the films to varying degrees and if I had to rate them I’d probably rate them in the order they came out (haters of the third one will disagree that it’s the third best), but I’m starting to feel done with them now.

The last one was my least favourite for various reasons and although it had some good scenes, unfortunately all of the bad outweighed the good for me which has made it the only Jurassic Park/World movie I won’t put on if I see it showing on TV.

I’m excited to see the original cast back in this new one, and unlike previous instalments they look like they have substantial roles which is good news. It’s also interesting to see the dinosaurs free roaming in our world. However, I just feel like they’ve lost their magic.

Is it that we’ve seen it all now so there are no more surprises, or is it that films (sequels in particular) lack that special quality that they used to have?

Let me know what you think.

Are you excited about this movie and in which order would you rate them all?

If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, check it out below.
