I Bought Peter Benchley’s Jaws

I recently decided after many years of umming and arring to buy and read Jaws by Peter Benchley.

I’ve seen the movie a gazillion times and it’s easily one of my favourite films of all time. I’ve always been tempted to read the book but I’ve been worried that it’ll affect my enjoyment of the film.

I’ve been told by various people that there are some significant differences to the movie, such as Ellen Brody having an affair with Hooper, the mob’s involvement in the town and also Hooper dying when his cage gets attacked towards the end.

I watched Jaws 2 (1978) last week for the first time in ages and it prompted me to bite the bullet and finally see for myself.

It’s early days but I’m enjoying it so far. It actually grabbed me from the first few pages which is pretty rare for me.

I’m currently rocking my cool little shark bookmark that my mum got me for Christmas. Thanks mum! 😍👍
