Happy birthday to this man, Dwayne Johnson, 48 today!
In one of his first movies, Welcome to the Jungle (2003) (or The Rundown depending what country you’re in), there’s a cameo from Arnold Schwarzenegger at the beginning. He passes The Rock in a club and says “Have Fun”. It was supposedly a passing of the torch from an old action hero to the new.
I remember thinking, “I can’t see it. He’s no Arnie”.
Well he might not be Arnie but he’s certainly established himself as a big presence in the film world and by all accounts is a genuinely nice guy.
I’m not a huge fan of the Fast and Furious films (in case anyone asks why they’re not on my list) but my Dwayne Johnson film recommendations are:
