Currently watching: Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) on Sky Adventure (channel 302). 🤟
I watched this movie to death when I was a teenager along with its sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991). I even had the Bogus Journey poster on my bedroom wall for years.
I’ve never been able to decide which film I prefer out of the two though. They’re both “excellent” in their own ways.
One thing I do know is that the third and most recent offering, Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020) is one of the worst films I’ve ever seen, and proof that some things should be left well alone.
I watched an interview with Jim Carrey recently where he said that he’s not interested in doing sequels to his older movies anymore.
He said that when you’re young and you play certain characters, there’s often a part of your personality that you channel into the role. He said that after so many years, there’s not one cell in your body that is that person anymore so all you end up doing is imitating what you did all those years ago because the original inspiration isn't there.
That’s how I felt about Keanu Reeves in the last Bill & Ted movie. Mind you, I think that was the least of the film’s worries! 😳
