You might’ve heard by now that in the near-ish future we’ll be seeing a re-boot of the “Blade” franchise.
Personally I love those movies (even the third one)! Wesley Snipes was perfect as the ass kicking half-vampire title character Blade (based on the Marvel comic book character).
Mahershala Ali (Green Book) has been cast to take over the role but not a lot more information is known at this point.
Rumours circulating are that Blade could be introduced to the MCU in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, “Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness” (2021) which is being directed by Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, original Spider-Man trilogy) and that the film will apparently have a darker tone to previous Marvel instalments.
Another rumour (and it is just a rumour) is that Wesley Snipes could be returning, but to play the title villain, Dracula! 🧛🏿♂️
Whatever happens, I’m interested to see where they go with it.
Mahershala Ali is a brilliant actor and I’m sure he’ll do a good job. I just hope they make it R Rated as I’m tired of Hollywood watering down movies to get more ticket sales on the opening weekend. 😡
