Yep, it was all fake. Soz! 🤷♂️
The visual effect was achieved using several techniques including filming the actor on wires and on a mechanical arm (as pictured here with Margot Kidder) along with bluescreen compositing.
It worked a treat because as the tagline rightly states:
“You’ll believe a man can fly” 🦸🏻
